Aung Myint, a self-taught contemporary artist, was born in 1946, in Yangon, Myanmar. Aung Myint has explored the artworks from a different point of view creating abstract paintings, installations, Clay sculptures, and also performances. His expressive artworks are shown in various countries around the world. He has done his solo exhibition in Myanmar in 1994, 1996, 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2017,1999 in Japan. 2002,2010,2013,2015 in Singapore,2003 and 2007 in Hong Kong, and 2002 in New York, USA.

He has also participated in many group shows in Myanmar and also other countries such as Japan in 1995,1999,2005, Finland in 2001, Vietnam in 1998 and 1996, Macau in 2000 and 2008, the Netherlands in 1998, London in 1999, Thailand in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2009, 2013, Taipei in 1996, Germany in 1999and 2004, Malaysia in 1998, Cambodia in 2003, Bombay, India in 2012, Singapore in 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2010, 2013, 2015, and Hong Kong in 2016.

He showed his artwork in the Philip Morris Group of Companies Myanmar Award Exhibition and His expressive artwork is selected. He has got one of the Jurors’Choice Awards Myanmar in 2002, One of the Jurors’ Choice Awards ( Asian Art Awards ), Bali, Indonesia (2002).

His artworks are collected in the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum ( Japan ), Performance Art Museum (Macau), Solomon R.Guggenheim Museum ( New York, USA ), Vehbi Koc Foundation ( Turkey ), the National Art Gallery ( Singapore ), and the National Art Gallery (Malaysia).

Now he lives in the Studio, The Inya Art Gallery, creating his artworks. As he believes, “ Art is International Language “, his artworks express his feeling about every movement happening around the world.
