Dr. Lun Gywe , pioneer impressionist artist was born in Yangon,on 23 September , 1930. His mentors are U Thein Han, Alinga Kyawswa U Ngwe Gaing , U San Win , U Thet Win and U Chit Maung. He studied about art not only in mother land but also abroad like Eastern China at Centeral Fine Art Institute in BeiJing in 1964 , Restoration of Paintings at East Germany in 1961 and Art Teachership Diploma at Kanbe Traininng Collage.

He got the prize by Water Color Association in New York, 1992 , certificate of honor by President of Myanmar in 2013 and Doctor of Letter (Honoris Causa ) by National University of Art and Culture in 2014. He was an instructor at State School Of Fine Art , Yangon from 1958 to 1979 and teaching art to the foreigners from 1990 to 1999. He has done his solo shows at Singapore (2002), Thavibu Gallery , Bangkok (2005), Fusion Gallery , New York (2005) , Singapore Art House (2009), Asian Cultural Centre, New York , USA, Fragrance of Myanmar Art Solo exhibition in Singapore(2006) , The Heart Paintings Solo Exhibition in Singapore(2009 ), Art Fair in Marcch, Tokyo, Japan(2017), Solo Exhibition of U Lun Gywe , Ginza ,Tokyo(2017). His art works are collected at the Museum of Myanmar, at the National Museum of Singapore , at the National Museum of Malaysia . Private collectors are Mr.S.R Nathan (Former President Of Singapore , Mrs.Kay Kuok Oon Kwong ( Chairman of Shangri-La Hotel) and many other collectors around the world including Myanmar , USA,Japan,Korea,India,New Zealand , Singapore ,Brunei , Thailand,  Germany, England , France, China and Canda.

He is the founder of Artist Life Art Gallery.
