Maung Aw was born in 1945 and studied for many years under his great mentor mester artist , U Thein Han. He enjoys creating the oil paintings especially and Oil and Water Color are his favourite medium.

He has Participated  many group shows at home and abroad. His works has been exhibited at Australia , China, Korea, Hong Kong and New York. His art works are collected not only from Asia but also from Europe and United State.

His first solo show entitled " A Taste of Color " at Karin Weber Gallery in Hong Kong and second solo is "Turban Kids" at the same galleries. Third solo show " Face " is at Art -2 Gallery, Singapore.

The unique sense of color and composition in his paintings makes us amazed and he spends all of his Life at his studio as a full time artist.
